Magic of the Straight Draw

This
class will explore some of the possibilities of the straight draw threading on 4
or 8 shafts. By changing tie - ups, treadlings, color order and yarn weights, we
will discover a multitude of exciting and different weaves. Drafts from older
manuscripts, as well as newer resources will be used. You will also learn how to
develop your own tie - ups and treadlings. At the end of the class each person
will have a reference notebook of drafts and samples.
Prerequisite: Basic weaving vocabulary and ability
to independently warp loom.
