Weaving for more than 35 years, the textile arts of weaving and ply split braiding are a central part of her life. Her current focus in weaving is handpainted silk scarves and household items such as towels, napkins and table runners.
Introduced several years ago to Ply Split Braiding through Peter Collingwood's book, The Techniques of Ply-split Braiding. She now explores this new, portable expression to create neck pieces and vessels. She also sells on her website the needed tools for Ply Split Braiding: cord makers and gripfids of her original design.
She has taught both weaving and ply split braiding on East and West coasts and throughout the Midwest. Her articles on weaving and ply-split braiding have been published in Handwoven magazine.
In 2014 she earned the distinguished Certificate of Excellence in Handweaving from the Handweavers Guild of America. In 2019, she was designated a Fiber Artist of Distinction by the Midwest Weavers Association.
